The last masterpiece
In 1969 the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pietro Nenni entrusted the Italian Embassy in Brasilia to Pier Luigi Nervi, the most famous Italian project designer in the world.
The building is a synthesis of architecture and engineering, and contains all the construction inventions that Nervi developed throughout his extraordinary career.
A modern building
The building is a defined volume, precise and straightforward in its entirety. A complete form, with double symmetry, neither repeatable nor modifiable. Like a Renaissance palace, made modern through the structural energy of reinforced concrete and the expressiveness of its exposed facade.
